I am a USCG License Charter Captain who is Fully insured. I currently own and Operate Hot Spots Fishing Charters. I am also a Firefighter Paramedic for Dunedin Fire Rescue and have been there for 3 Years. For more information go to www.hotspotsfishingcharters.com
Fishing report :
Fishing has been on fire lately. With the huge push of scaled sardines into Tampa Bay really turned the fish on. The past few trips included a non stop action of Spanish Mackeral, which is my favorite fish to put on the smoker and make fish spread out of. Also the trout action has been steady on the grass flats through out Tampa Bay. Along with the Spanish Mackeral came and influx of Kingfish and Tarpon as well.
On a recent scouting trip for an upcoming redfish tournament we found several spots holding nice sized snook that looked very healthy. That was a very good thing to see since we had such a bad winter this year and the snook really took a hard hit to the population.
Redfish bite has been steady. The fish seemed to be in singles and in pairs and not schooled up in massive schools yet. The top bait of choice for me has been a scaled sardine on a 1/0 VMC circle hook and 20lb Ohero Flouro Leader.
Fishing in Tampa Bay is HOT right now. Pick a day from the calender below to book your next trip now.
