Fishing report :
Well things are happening now all over the bay and gulf waters. I will start first with the inshore report. We have been catching big gator trout up to 29" in Sarasota bay and in other surrounding waters of Tampa Bay. There are some really big schools of redfish on the flats right now as well, they are a little spooky but can be caught with a little persistence. Big drum in the 40 to 70 lb class range are being caught in the bay on artificial. Mackerel have showed up everywhere requiring alot of hook tying. Grouper have been good in Tampa Bay and snapper are around the bridges. A few tarpon have showed up in the bay with the big thread fin herring run. Some pompino and permit have been caught but not enough to target them yet.
Offshore report I will start out with saying the King fish are here just off the beaches, and some nice ones too. Spanish mackeral can be caught all up and down the beaches on the near-shore reefs. Red and gag grouper are all over the reefs up to 7 mile range. I have had 2- 30" plus grouper hit a live bait on the surface in 30\' of water in the last week and have caught many other nice keepers as well. A few cobia have been spotted and the snapper bite is on and hot on the same piles that the grouper are on.
